Tara Energy teams up with HHRD to support Pakistan Flood Relief efforts
After months of unprecedented rainfall in Pakistan, millions of people, including the families and friends of our South Asian community, have been devastated and displaced by the catastrophic effects of flash flooding throughout their country. With one-third of Pakistan completely submerged by historic flooding,1 they need our help.
In the face of this devastation, Tara Energy, a leading Texas retail electricity provider since 2002 has teamed up with HHRD to donate a portion of their October sales towards emergency Pakistan Flood Relief efforts. 2
“An established part of the Texas market for 20 years, Tara Energy is proud to serve a vibrant local South Asian community,” says Mehnaz Zaidi, Tara Energy’s Senior Director of Business Development. “With such a strong community connection, our employees have always been among the first to step up in times of need. So, in the face of this devastation, they were ready to come together to help with the creation of care packages and donation collections for the people of flood-ravaged Pakistan. In taking this further, as an organization, we seek to help even more in a larger, more impactful way. Our work with HHRD enables us to maximize and channel urgent and critical aid exactly where it’s needed most.”
With the help of HHRD, the donations made by Tara Energy and other members of the community will be directed to priority needs such as Dry Food Packages, Cooked Meals and Clean Water, Temporary Shelter Home Kits, Dignity Packages, and Medical Camps. These much-needed supplies and services will help bring life-saving assistance to the people of Pakistan.
