On June 25th, 2023, Pakistan was once again struck by a new wave of fear as heavy monsoon rains caused devastation for another consecutive year. As of July 12th, 2023, 90 people have lost their lives, with hundreds injured due to various rain-related incidents across Punjab. Livestock has perished, and hundreds of crops have been ruined. More rainfall is expected in the upcoming weeks, posing a threat of causing further damage.

Last year, HHRD responded with a $15 million cash and In-Kind intervention that helped 500,000+ people affected by the historic floods. HHRD Pakistan assisted families with food, non-perishable items, medical assistance, solar panels, and much more. Our Homes for Hope campaign is helping construct 700 homes for the flood-affected families. In addition, HHRD’s Seeds of Hope initiative has sustained and empowered a thousand farming families by providing them with seeds, supplies, and training needed to produce food and income for one year.
