Families escaping civil unrest and natural disasters find themselves under the open skies with only the clothes on their backs. Countless fall victim to the elements and develop long term trauma or illnesses. HHRD provides shelter homes for protection from the weather along with the privacy they deserve. These homes away from home are a welcomed relief!
After 10 years of crises, life is harder than ever for displaced Syrians. HHRD uses high-quality materials known for its endurance for extreme temperatures which includes galvanized steel, insulation sheets, wooden doors, and solid steel bases. It’s designed on the interior to resemble regular homes with 1 to 2 bedrooms and utility rooms that serve as a kitchen and a bathroom. Each home is supplied with water and electricity.
HHRD has provided over 4,000 shelter homes to Rohingya families in Cox’s Bazar Bangladesh. Each home consists of two rooms along with a balcony. The structure is made with bamboo and tarpaulin that can sustain high winds and rains. Homes are provided with solar powered electric fixtures, such as fans and bulbs and can house a family of six members.
