Syrians, the largest, forcibly displaced, population in the world, are either fleeing the country or living in makeshift camps. HHRD's Middle East North Africa (MENA) office in Jordan, has provided humanitarian assistance to roughly 1 million Syrian refugees since 2012. Ten years later, an estimated 5.6 million Syrian refugees require humanitarian relief. HHRD’s MENA team has been working in Jordan, Lebanon and Turkey delivering relief through 13 programs.
Forcible displacement due to persecution, conflict, violence, and human rights violations have devastated the lives of 79.5 million people. HHRD is doing its part to support these refugee populations, especially the orphans and their families who have escaped war and persecution from their home countries. Your support can make a lasting impact. Generations are being born into this continuous struggle; we must ensure their lives are better than their parents.
We fled from Syria to Jordan after my husband died in 2013. My children, grandchildren and I are 13 members, and we live in one house. When I came to Jordan we were surprised and challenged by the high cost of living. I enrolled and completed an HHRD training course in handicrafts to generate income. I really enjoy making these art products and my son with the mental disabilities loves to help. I feel that I am a productive member of society, and dream of having my own shop.
