Home to over 226 million people, Pakistan is the 5th most populated in the world. An estimated 65% of Pakistan’s citizens resides in rural areas in a country that is twice the size of California. With poverty, illiteracy, unemployment, infectious diseases, and lack of health facilities on the rise; the country relies heavily on international relief for the social issues faced by its citizens.
Volatility from neighboring countries, threats from the monsoon season, and earthquakes, are the some of the factors troubling this thriving nation. HHRD has been providing assistance through its Orphan Support, Education Support, Skills Development Livelihood, Children with Disabilities, Comprehensive Physical Rehabilitation, Health Care and Nutrition, Water for Life, Water and Sanitation Hygiene, In Kind Gifts and Seasonal programs.
Since 2005, HHRD has provided relief initiatives in Pakistan through a series of long-term developmental programs in order to make a sustainable impact. These programs are in line with the government of Pakistan’s “Goals of Vision 2025”, while adhering to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals that several other international entities such as USAID, WFP, WHO, UNICEF, are adopting. HHRD is working in 60 districts throughout the country through 13 programs.
