On March 5th, 2023, deadly fires caused large spread damage to one of the largest refugee camps in the world. Cox’s Bazaar in Bangladesh is home to thousands of Rohingya refugees, who are once again left without a roof over their heads. Some 12,000 refugees have been affected by these fires, and half of them are reported to be children. The full extent of the damages in Block B, Camp 11, is still under assessment; however, reports indicate that the fire has spread to Camps 9 and 10. Camp 11 houses over 32,250 refugees, while an estimated 957,971 Rohingya refugees are crammed in 35 camps in Cox’s Bazar.

Last year, HHRD helped over 107.335 refugees in Bangladesh. HHRD has been working through credible, vetted partner organizations since 2012 for Rohingya Refugees in these Camps in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh. We have been supporting thousands of orphans and individuals through our many programs, including Healthcare and Nutrition, Skills Development and Livelihood, Education Support, Water for Life, Water and Sanitation Hygiene, In-Kind Gifts, and other seasonal programs.
